Oxford Rye Whisky Batch #1 is a rye whisky from The Oxford Artisan Distillery, distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2021 at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was founded with the aim of becoming the first organically certified grain-to-glass spirit producer in the United Kingdom, and works from an old depot in Oxford with stills named Nautilus and Nemo.
The nose brings banana yoghurt, herbs, fresh bread and caramel, with clove and nutmeg. The palate is creamy banana bread, toasted sourdough, almonds and vanilla, and the finish pairs praline with rye and warming spices.
