This is Batch 2 of Oxford Rye Whisky from Oxford Artisan Distillery, distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2021 at 47.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was founded by Tom Nicolson and Tagore Ramoutar, who set out to become the UK's first organically certified grain-to-glass spirit producer, working from an old depot once owned by Oxford City Council. The nose is herbal and floral, with aniseed and violets, a touch of banana, praline and toffee, then red apples, hazelnut and pepper. On the palate come creamy butterscotch, strawberry jam, blackcurrant, raisins, walnuts, honey and ginger cake. The finish is sweet and spicy, with banana bread, berries, tobacco, leather and peppermint.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
