This is a blended Scotch whisky, the final release in a four-part Pictish blending series. It was first created for the wedding of Andrew, a co-director of the bottler, and the kelpie carving on the label stands for different clans coming together.
It marries a 16-year-old Strathclyde single grain from Glasgow, matured in a refill bourbon barrel, with a 13-year-old Dalrymple blended malt from Ayrshire, matured in a refill bourbon hogshead. The blend is unpeated and was finished for 10 months in a first-fill sparkling wine barrique. It is bottled at a cask strength of 60.7%, in an outturn of 248 bottles.
The nose brings freshly baked brioche and crisp green fruit, followed by fresh, sweet toffee on the palate. The finish is long and lively, with zesty citrus and earthy almond.
