Pictish Wolf Volume I Fife Blend (58.6%)

This is a peated blended Scotch whisky made only from whiskies of Fife, the first release in the Pictish Wolf series. It is bottled at a cask strength of 58.6%, in an outturn of 340 bottles. Three casks went into it: a 13-year-old Cameronbridge single grain from a second-fill PX sherry hogshead, a 5-year-old FinGlassie single malt, distilled at Inchdairnie, from a first-fill Banyuls barrique, and a smaller measure of 10-year-old Cameronbridge from a first-fill bourbon hogshead. The nose offers smoked bacon with maple syrup. On the palate, thick wood smoke is balanced with salted caramel. The finish brings tangy sea salt and gentle tannins.
