Port Charlotte – 16 Year Old Feis Ile 2020 is a whisky from Port Charlotte (Islay). Aged 16 years, bottled at 55.8% ABV, 70cl. This heavily peated whisky from Bruichladdich is generally peated to 40ppm and is distilled in the same tall stills resulting in a spirit that has both power and elegance. Created to commemorate the Lochindaal distillery, originally called Port Charlotte, which closed in 1929, it was the first spirit distilled by the Murray McDavid team in 2001. A vatting of three parcels of 2003 vintage single malt. The first is refill hogsheads, recasked into first fill bourbon barrels in 2012. The second is first fill bourbon barrels re-racked into ex-Sauternes casks in 2013. And the final parcel is a variety of ex-sherry, ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks.
