This is a 19 year old Port Ellen single malt, one of 570 bottles from a single sherry cask. It was distilled in February 1982 and bottled at 50% ABV in November 2001 for Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range, in a 70cl bottle. The nose is peaty and maritime, with brine, seashells and iodine, and a slight touch of citrus and apple behind. The palate is slightly oily, opening with smoke like a bonfire on the beach, then smoked citrus and orange, pepper, smoked salmon, ginger and a little wood. The finish is long, with smoke, pepper, wood and aniseed.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
