This Port Ellen single malt was distilled in September 1982 and released by Gordon & MacPhail in the Connoisseur's Choice range as a 2009 release. Matured in refill sherry casks, it is offered at 43% ABV.
It dates from shortly before the distillery was mothballed in 1983. Peat and citrus shape the nose, followed by delicate ash and fruit on a balanced palate. The finish brings smoky peat with a touch of spice.
