Port Ellen – 22 Year Old 1978 Rare Malts Selection (70cl, 60.5%)

This is a Port Ellen single malt from the Rare Malts Selection, distilled in 1978 and bottled in October 2000 at 22 years old. It comes in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 60.5% ABV. Port Ellen closed in 1983, yet it remains one of the best-known distilleries on Islay. Its reputation grew after the closure, having been relatively little known while it was working.
