This is a 24 year old Port Ellen from Islay, distilled in 1979 and bottled in 2003 at cask strength. It is the third release in the annual Diageo Special Releases series, limited to 9,000 bottles. It is typically described as having grassy, lemon zest aromas, leading to a powerful palate of oak and pepper with plenty of maritime and smoky notes. The finish is extremely long.
