A 25 year old Port Ellen distilled in 1978, the fourth release in Diageo's annual Special Releases series. This Islay single malt comes in a 70cl bottle, with 5100 bottles produced.
Refill casks gave it a style that pairs delicate fruitiness with maritime character. It is described as bold, powerful and peaty, with notes of pepper, spice and nuts.
The nose is grassy with lemon zest, leading to a powerful palate of oak, pepper, maritime and smoky notes. The finish is extremely long.
