Port Ellen 30 Years Old is an Islay single malt from the closed Port Ellen distillery, bottled by Douglas Laing for its Old & Rare – The Platinum Selection. It was distilled in December 1979 and bottled in December 2009 at 53.3% ABV, after thirty years in a hogshead. The outturn is 270 bottles, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered with no added colour. The nose is maritime, with seaweed, salty coastal air and bonfire smoke alongside citrus peel, beeswax, vanilla and a little tropical fruit. The palate brings deep peat smoke, salted caramel and citrus oil, with ripe mango, dried pineapple and honey. The finish is very long, with lingering smoke, sea salt, citrus peel and sweet malt.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
