A 28 year old cask strength single malt Scotch from Speyside, distilled in 1988 and bottled at 53% ABV in a 70cl bottle. This is bottle 836 of 888 and comes in a presentation case.
The nose opens with autumn leaves and wood glue, then patisserie notes of Belgian buns, cooked raisins, apple turnovers and Eccles cakes, with prunes, pine resin and a faint, distant bonfire. The palate is full-bodied and warm, with savoury oak, muscovado sugar, apple fruit leather, gingerbread and stewed orange. The finish is long and warm, with walnut cake, clove rock, raisins, dry oak spice and a faint sootiness.
