This is an eight-year-old Braeval single malt from the Provenance range, bottled by Douglas Laing. It was distilled in 2011 and matured in a bourbon cask, then bottled at 46%. Braeval sits 355 metres above sea level, which makes it one of the highest distilleries in Scotland. It was built in 1972 as Breas of Glenlivet and buys in unpeated malt. The nose offers toffee pudding, milk chocolate, malted barley and apple peel. The palate is sweet biscuits, caramel, macadamia nuts and nutmeg, and the finish carries plenty of ginger, ripe banana and a gentle note of charred oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
