This is a Braeval single malt from Speyside, bottled by Whispering Waters at cask strength, an approximate 60.2% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. Braeval's distillery sits at one of the highest altitudes in the region and seldom releases its whisky unblended. It was distilled on 28 October 2014, matured in a first-fill Pedro Ximenez sherry cask and bottled on 14 October 2024, just short of ten years. The nose is dark jammy fruit, herbaceous berries, cherry chocolate and sun-dried fruit. The palate offers dark chocolate, stewed blackberries, currants and honeyed dates over dense oak. The finish is long, with woody spices, sherried oak and hints of chilli and candied ginger.
