PUNI – Italian Malt Whisky VINA Dry Marsala Vergine Cask (75cl)

PUNI VINA is an Italian malt whisky from PUNI, which was founded in 2010 in South Tyrol and is described as Italy's first whisky producer. It comes in a 75cl bottle and is finished in Dry Marsala Vergine casks. Marsala Vergine is a long-aged, dry, oxidative style of Sicilian fortified wine, closer to dry sherry than to a sweet wine. Here it is layered onto a South Tyrol whisky base made from locally grown rye, malted barley and wheat. The finish is said to add dried fruit and oxidised nut character without sweetness.
