Quarter Deck Hampden 12 Year Old 2009 Jamaican Rum (70cl, 50.8%)

A single cask Jamaican rum from Hampden Estate in Trelawny Parish, distilled in 2009 and aged for twelve years in Jamaica. It is bottled by the independent Quarter Deck Series as a limited edition at 50.8% ABV. It was distilled on Hampden's traditional copper pot stills and has a rich, estery style. It is non-chill filtered and bottled without additives or colouring. The nose is ripe banana, pineapple and mango, with varnish, molasses and smoky oak. The palate is full-bodied and oily, with tropical fruit, brown sugar, pepper and citrus zest. The finish is long, with dried fruit, sweet spice and tangy molasses.
