Rampur – Barrel Blush Indian Single Malt (70cl, 45%)

Rampur Barrel Blush is an Indian single malt matured first in American bourbon barrels, then finished in Australian Shiraz wine casks. It is bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtering or added colour. The bourbon casks bring vanilla, oak and gentle spice, while the Shiraz finish adds ripe berries, dark fruit and a faint trace of tannin. It comes from the Rampur Distillery, part of Radico Khaitan, and is matured in the foothills of the Himalaya. On the nose, tropical fruit and delicate flowers meet soft malt and oak, with caramel, toffee and dried dark fruit. The palate is sweet, fruity and spiced, with the Shiraz staying in the background. The finish is long.
