Rampur Sangam World Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Sangam is a blended malt from Rampur Distillery in India, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The name means confluence in Hindi. It brings together malt whiskies from traditional European whisky regions with malts from New World producers, a blend developed by master blender Anup Barik for Radico Khaitan, which introduced it in 2023. The nose opens with lychee, green apple, pear and apricot, then citrus, rose and heather, with honey, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg and only faint salt and peat smoke. The palate is fruity, creamy and full, with salt and peat in balance, giving way to cinnamon, nutmeg and oaky vanilla. The finish is long.
