Rebel Yell Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a wheated bourbon bottled at 40% ABV in a 1 litre bottle. It is distilled and aged at Lux Row Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky.
The mash bill uses corn, wheat and malted barley, with no rye, in a recipe that traces back to 1849 and the Stitzel-Weller era. Wheat takes the place of rye as the secondary grain, which makes for a softer, sweeter bourbon.
The nose has cut wood, dried apple, a little grass and light caramel. The palate is gentle, with vanilla, roasted corn and sweet chocolate, and the finish is quick and soft.
