Retribution Distilling – Single Malt English Whisky Oloroso Cask PR003 (70cl, 53%)

This is the third release of single malt from Retribution Distilling, a single cask matured for 3 years in an Oloroso hogshead of 250 litres. It is bottled at 53% in 70cl, and only 370 bottles were produced. The spirit is made from Maris Otter barley, floor malted at Warminster Maltings, and distilled in direct-fired copper pot stills. The distillery has moved to this malt from Laureate, and feels it adds depth to the new make. The distillery describes the cask as bringing red berries and other fruits, a hint of nuttiness and sherry sweetness, over a smooth, creamy spirit that can still be tasted behind it.
