Rittenhouse – 100 Proof Bottled in Bond (70cl, 50%)

Rittenhouse 100 Proof is a straight rye whiskey bottled in bond at 50% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The Bottled-in-Bond rules of 1897 mean the rye is matured for at least four years, comes from one distilling season and one distiller, and is kept in government-controlled storage. The nose is spicy rye with cinnamon, nutmeg, toffee, dark caramel and a hint of orange zest. The palate is full and spicy, with black pepper, cinnamon, butterscotch, dark sugar, toasted oak and a little honey. The finish is long, warm and spicy, with oak, caramel and a slightly drying edge.
