Ron Colón Salvadoreño Coffee-Infused Rum (75cl, 40.5%)

A coffee-infused rum at 40.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle, blending Salvadoran and Jamaican rums. The base includes a 6-year-old molasses rum from Licorera Cihuatán, joined by white rums from Worthy Park, Hampden and Monymusk and a 3-year-old Worthy Park rum. The coffee is Bourbon-variety, grown at 1,700 metres on the slopes of the Santa Ana volcano, naturally processed and medium roasted, then cold-macerated with the rum for 48 hours. The nose is freshly brewed dark-roast coffee with toasted almonds, caramel and woody spice. The palate is sweet and coffee-led, with burnt sugar, dark chocolate, vanilla and stewed plum, kept in check by a bitter cocoa edge. The finish is medium-long, with bitter chocolate, roasted nuts and coffee grounds.
