Royal Brackla – 12 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish (46%)

This is a 12 year old Highland single malt from Royal Brackla, finished in Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. It is bottled at 46% ABV, without chill filtration and without added colouring, and is part of the distillery's core range. Royal Brackla was founded in 1833 and was the first Scottish distillery to receive the royal title, granted by King William IV. The whisky is matured for twelve years before the sherry casks add further depth. The nose offers almonds, plums, dates and malt with cinnamon spice. The palate is full and creamy, with dark chocolate, cherries, dried apricots, brown sugar, toasted almonds and oak spice. The finish is long, with cherry, gentle sweetness and woody spice.
