Royal Brackla 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt matured in American oak, then finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez. It is bottled at 46% without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery was granted a royal warrant by King William IV in 1833.
The nose offers dried apricot, sultana, vanilla cream and nutmeg. On the palate it is silky and rich, with stewed plum, honeyed malt, orange peel and dark chocolate over oak. The finish is long and warming, with toasted spice and dates fading into dryness.
