Royal Brackla 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt matured for 18 years and then finished in Palo Cortado sherry casks. It is 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
Palo Cortado is a rare style of sherry that begins its life aged under flor, as a fino or amontillado would. The whisky won gold at the IWSC in 2024 with 95 points.
The nose shows baked apples, almond, Madeira cake, dough, spice and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, oak combines with sweetness and kilned malt, and the finish is well balanced.
