Royal Household is a blended Scotch whisky from James Buchanan & Co, first created for Edward VII when he was Prince of Wales and originally made for the British royal family. It is bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle.
The blend is made from malt and grain whiskies from several distilleries, including Dalwhinnie, matured in oak casks.
The nose is polished wood, old parchment, sweet almond, dried apricot and heather honey, with a trace of smoke. The palate is silky, with brown sugar, Christmas spice and candied peel, and the finish is medium to long, ending on creamy toffee and milk chocolate.
