Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It is amber in colour and medium-bodied, with a smooth mouthfeel.
The nose is fairly closed, with planed wood, light toffee and boat varnish. A little water sweetens it and brings out a sharper, acid-drop note. On the palate there is fruit, planed wood and light toffee, sweet at first before turning more acidic.
The finish is dry and of medium length, with a lingering sandalwood note.
