This is a 16 year old single malt Scotch from Royal Lochnagar, in a 70cl bottle, released as part of Diageo's 2021 Special Releases. The whisky was matured in refill casks of American oak and European oak. The theme that year was 'Legends Untold', inspired by stories around the distilleries, and the label carries a fierce-looking horse.
The nose is creamy, with toffee, brioche, vanilla and apple. On the palate come a little chilli, warm baking spices and cooked apple like a tarte tatin, with a creamy texture. The finish is quite short, with some spice and lingering creaminess.
