Royal Salute 21 Year Old in the green bottle is a blended Scotch whisky from Chivas Brothers, in a 70cl bottle at 40% abv. The label gives 1801 as the year of founding.
The nose is deep and floral, with ripe sweet pears and peach, citrus peel and autumn flowers, over vanilla, dry oak, sherry and a fine thread of sweet smoke.
The palate is silky and creamy, with orange marmalade, candied fruit, ginger and cinnamon, then hazelnuts and walnuts. The finish is long and rich, with toasted wood, sweet spices and a very soft smokiness that lingers.
