Royal Salute 21 Year Old The Signature Blend is a blended Scotch whisky in which every whisky has matured for a minimum of 21 years. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl porcelain flagon glazed in sapphire blue, which represents the precious stones set in the Imperial State Crown. Royal Salute was created in 1953 to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, and its name comes from the 21 gun salute fired at the Tower of London. The nose combines sweet pears, citrus fruits, autumn flowers, vanilla and dry oak, with subtle sherry and smoke. The palate brings orange marmalade, pears, spices and hazelnuts, ending with a touch of smokiness.
