A 21-year-old blended Scotch whisky from Royal Salute, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle by Chivas Brothers.
The nose is sweet, with ripe pears, orange marmalade and raisins, then autumn flowers, vanilla and toasted caramel, with a faint thread of peat smoke and old oak. The palate is silky and creamy, with dark chocolate, golden honey, baked apples and toasted hazelnuts before ginger and cinnamon arrive. The finish is long and warm, dry, with sweet spice, well-integrated oak and a slight herbal edge.
