Royal Salute 26 Year Old Amarone Wine Cask Finish is a blended Scotch at 40%, in a 70cl bottle. It is the second edition in the Kingdom Collection, which celebrates kingdoms from around the world, and this one pays tribute to Italy.
The blend was fully finished in Amarone wine casks, a first for Royal Salute, and the long finish in them has given it richness and complexity.
The nose offers plums, Seville orange zest, raspberries, cherry tart, chocolate orange, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. The palate brings red apples, dark cherries, apricot jam, redcurrants, panettone, dark chocolate compote and clove-ginger. The finish is rich and spicy.
