Royal Salute 32 Years Old Union of the Crowns is a blended Scotch whisky in a 50cl flagon, bottled at 40%. It marks 1603, when King James VI joined three kingdoms to form the British Monarchy.
The blend brings together whiskies aged for over 32 years from Scottish distilleries, among them Tormore, Glen Keith and Longmorn, along with the closed distilleries Lochside and Caperdonich. The porcelain flagon is made by hand and carries a hand-hammered silver plaque. A black stone set on a silver crown tops the bottle, and the neck is decorated with a rose, a thistle and a shamrock.
The nose is rich and fruity. On the palate there is soft caramel toffee, dark chocolate and orange, with a touch of ginger cake.
