This is the Rock Label, a 7 year old Swiss single malt from Rugenbräu of Interlaken, bottled at 50.1% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It is distilled in a pot still and stored in the historic Rugen rock cellar.
At the end of maturation it is moved into burnt barrels made from local oak for what the producer calls its Swiss Wood Finish.
The nose combines sweet sherry notes with orange peel, light raisins and malty caramel, with a hint of smokiness, cocoa roast and soft vanilla. On the palate tart flavours meet vanilla and caramel, with warmth and a soft texture. The finish is smooth yet spicy, and long.
