Saburomaru The Empress is a new edition of single malt from the Wakatsuru Saburomaru distillery in Japan, bottled at 48% ABV.
It is the first time the distillery has used pine wood vats for fermentation, which allows complex aromas to develop.
Like all the distillery's single malts, it is heavily peated, at 50 ppm.
