Sagamore Small Batch Rye is made entirely in Maryland and bottled at 46.5% ABV. It combines two house-distilled mash bills, one high-rye and one low-rye, aged for four to six years in American oak and proofed with limestone-filtered spring water.
The nose opens with orange zest and ginger snap, with bready molasses, light butterscotch and tart green apple. The palate is medium-bodied and viscous, moving from crisp citrus and ginger to toffee, honey, caramel, cocoa, clove and pine. The finish is long and warming, with gingerbread, maple and black walnut, and a touch of minty menthol.
