Distiller's Select Tequila Finish is a straight rye whiskey from Sagamore Spirit, finished in Extra Anejo tequila barrels.
Putting rye into tequila barrels is an unusual pairing, and the distillers regard the outcome as distinctive among tequila-finished whiskies, a risk that paid off.
On the nose there are agave and vanilla. The palate brings honey, peppercorn and orange citrus.
