Sakurao Sherry Cask Stillman's Selection Single Malt Japanese Whisky (70cl, 50%)

Sakurao Sherry Cask Stillman's Selection is a limited Japanese single malt from the Sakurao Brewery and Distillery in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima. The distillery's stillman chose the sherry-matured whiskies that make up the bottling, which is 50% ABV and comes in a 70cl bottle. It pairs sherry character with dark chocolate, ripe fruit and creamy sweetness, with a restrained layer of peat. Coastal maturation adds depth. The nose is ripe fruit and gentle sweetness with bitter chocolate and a subtle smokiness. The palate is full and creamy, with bitter chocolate, ripe cherry, dark fruit and peat smoke. The finish is deep and long, with dark chocolate and seasoned oak.
