Sangiovese Superiore Passito - Villa Emme

A passito sweet wine from Villa Emme, made from Sangiovese. It has a deep ruby colour with garnet reflections and a slightly viscous texture. The nose offers ripe red fruit and dried fruit, cherry, plum and sour cherry, with sweet spices, candied orange peel and a light cocoa note. On the palate the sweetness is enveloping yet supported by fresh acidity, with soft tannins giving structure and a pleasant, warm persistence. It suits dried-fruit or candied-fruit desserts, dark chocolate desserts and aged or blue cheeses, and can be served as an after-dinner wine.
