This Mortlach was bottled by Sansibar Whisky to mark its tenth anniversary. It is a Speyside single malt, distilled in 1998 and matured for 22 years in a single Sherry butt. It is bottled at 56.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and 347 bottles were produced.
The nose combines coconut cream, caramel, heather, grapefruit, roasted coffee and honey on buttered toast. The palate is rich with coconut, heather honey, dried herbs and dried fruit, with a powerful, full-bodied texture. The finish is very long, with coffee, raisins, mature oak and gently drying spice.
