A Japanese single grain whisky from the Sato distillery in Miyazaki Prefecture, bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle. The mash bill is 88% Koshihikari rice and 12% malted barley.
It is distilled in the Sato Still, a design created by Junji Mizue in 1989 that draws on a 500-year-old Japanese method of distillation. Maturation uses white oak, Spanish oak and sherry casks.
The nose is delicate and floral, with oak and vanilla. The palate brings roasted nuts, caramel and honey, and the finish carries a subtle smoky warmth and lingering sweetness.
