Sato Shiki Single Malt is a Japanese whisky made from 100% malted barley and matured in white oak, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. It is distilled in a Sato Still, a design created by Junji Mizue in 1989 whose beehive-shaped column controls the speed of the vapour.
The Sato distillery stands in Miyazaki Prefecture beside the Houri River and was founded in 1905.
The nose has mild sweetness, roasted barley and citrus. Vanilla, banana and butter appear on the palate, and the finish is velvety, with a refreshing hint of citrus.
