Sazerac Rye Whiskey

Sazerac Rye is an American rye whiskey named after the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street in New Orleans. The brand looks back to 1859, when saloons presenting themselves as coffee houses first appeared in the city's streets. It was there that local patrons were served rye whiskey mixed with Peychaud's bitters, a drink that became known as the Sazerac and is described as America's first branded cocktail. The nose brings clove, vanilla, aniseed and pepper. On the palate there is pepper, citrus and dark chocolate, leading to a smooth finish with liquorice.
