Scallywag 10 Years Old is a blended malt from Douglas Laing, matured in sherry casks and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is sweet and fruity, with brown sugar, runny honey, ripe berries, sultanas and plums, over a pastry background of cocoa, coffee beans and milk chocolate.
On the palate it is full-bodied and silky, with sherried sweetness: cherry syrup, dark chocolate and spiced orange marmalade, then vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. The finish is medium to long and warm, with dry oak, toasted nuts, lingering spice and a bitter cocoa edge.
