Scarabus 15 Year Old is an Islay single malt matured for 15 years in bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition of 600 bottles, showing Islay's characteristic peat alongside strong maritime notes. The name Scarabus comes from an Old Norse word that dates back to the 13th century and is best translated as 'rocky place'. The notes describe a robust, rich nose of maritime peat, sea spray and charred oak, with caramel, honeyed pear and zesty orange peel on the palate. The finish is smooth and lingering.
