Sheep Dip Islay Blended Malt Scotch

Sheep Dip Islay is a blended malt made from several single malt whiskies, all distilled and matured on Islay. The name comes from an old West Country term farmers used for whisky, a nod to the days when home distillers hid their spirit in barrels marked with those words. The barley is dried over peat, giving the blend its smoky character. Long maturation in oak next to the Atlantic is credited with the iodine, seaweed and salt in the glass. A small splash of spring water is suggested to open it up.
