This is a single cask Japanese whisky from the Shinshu distillery, Komagatake 2015, cask number 3225, in the 2021 release of an annual series.
It was aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks.
The palate is bright and fruit driven, with plum, apricot, green apple and a touch of smoke. Barley sugar and vanilla run through it, alongside marzipan, tarte tatin and tobacco leaf.
