This is the 2021 release of Shinshu Komagatake, a limited edition Japanese single malt from the Shinshu distillery. It is an annual bottling.
The whisky was aged in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks.
The tasting notes describe a bright, fruit-led palate of plum, apricot and green apple with a touch of smoke. Barley sugar and vanilla follow, along with marzipan, tarte tatin and tobacco leaf.
