Sierra Norte Red Corn is a single-barrel Mexican whiskey from the mountains of Oaxaca, bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is distilled by mezcalero Douglas French at Scorpion Mezcal S.A. de C.V. in San Agustín de las Juntas. The mash bill is 85% native Oaxacan red corn and 15% malted barley. The corn is hammer-milled and fermented with natural yeast in open stainless steel, then distilled in a stainless pot still and a copper pot still. The whiskey was aged for a minimum of two years in French oak barrels. The nose is dry and spicy, with graham cracker, cornbread and red licorice. The palate brings baked orange, clove, star anise and toffee, and the finish is slightly vegetal with lingering clove and star anise.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
