Sierra Norte Yellow Corn is a single barrel whiskey from Mexico, made from yellow corn and sold in a 70cl bottle. The Mexican producer also makes the Scorpion mezcal.
It is a young spirit, aged for at least eight months in French oak casks.
The nose is sweet and buttery, with toasted corn, buttered popcorn and a light hint of caramel. The palate is soft, with grilled pineapple and red chilli. The finish is long, warm and lightly smoky, with touches of honey, allspice and ash.
